Trust me, with my experience as a photographer, I can help you grow
Are you a budding photographer wondering if your passion can pay the bills? Let me share my story. After buying the beginner's favorite DSLR, Canon 1300D, for Rs 35,000 ($466), I was plagued with doubts. But through my ups and downs, I've discovered what it takes to make it as a photographer. Join me on my journey, as I share the good, the bad, and the ugly, and help you find your way in the world of photography.
In May 2018, I purchased my first DSLR, a Canon 1300D, for Rs. 35,000. Excited to start my photography journey, I headed to the National Zoological Park, located 6 miles from my residence, to capture some amazing animal photos. However, being in India, I had to deal with people who constantly disturbed me, touched my tripod stand, and asked me to capture their photos. Nevertheless, I remained disciplined and composed, shooting nearly 100+ photos and 10+ videos of beautiful and rare animals. After returning home, I worked on my laptop and managed to get around 20 great photos out of the 100, which I submitted to Shutterstock and other stock photography websites. Despite initial setbacks and dwindling patience, I never gave up and continued to work hard. After a month of dedicated effort, one of my photos got downloaded, and I received a royalty of 0.25 cents. The joyous feeling of satisfaction and the realization that hard work eventually pays off is what kept me going.
If you're wondering whether you need expensive equipment and software to make it as a photographer, I'm here to tell you that's not the case. I made a total of $11.08 without using any Adobe software or expensive DSLRs. No fancy gadgets or tools either. All I had was my passion, and that's what made the difference. If you have the drive and determination, success is within your reach. In my next post, I'll share my behind-the-scenes experiences with you. So keep learning, keep pushing, and don't give up.
