Symbiosis is a common occurrence in the animal kingdom, where two or more organisms interact in various ways. Relationships between organisms are obligate, meaning they are dependent on each other for survival. Mutualism is a symbiosis in which both organisms benefit. An example of this is the deer and crow, which eats small invertebrates like insects and ticks that have found their way into the deer's hair, helping them stay healthy. Crows have been observed removing and eating ticks from the skin of various animals, including deer, cows, and horses. This behavior, known as "tick-picking" or "tick-feeding," may help control tick populations and reduce the spread of tick-borne illnesses such as Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever.
